Our client, an organisation that delivers turnkey communication solutions to medium and large organisations across the mining, energy, transport, utilities and government sectors are currently seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer. 

Reporting directly to the QLD Network Operations Centre Manager, the Senior Network Engineer is responsible for:

  • Reviewing and clarifying customer objectives and agreeing to the scope of works with customers for Engineering activities
  • Customer liaison, quotation development, consultation and reporting, plus regular engagement with customers to establish strong relationships
  • Design, implementation, troubleshooting and management of customer networks
  • Design, implementation, troubleshooting and management of the service provider network
  • Assisting management of corporate network where required
  • Assisting with escalated support issues from the Network Operations Centre
  • Representing the best interests of both the customer and the organisation
  • Assisting with or leading improvement of the organisations processes where required
  • Escalate issues where required and own problems to resolution
  • Participate in an on-call network support roster

You must have the following experience:

  • The ability to liaise and consult with clients to deliver customised networks which meet the current and future needs of the clients business
  • Ideally you will have exposure to a broad range of networking and telecommunications equipment and all associated infrastructure
  • A strong safety focus
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of customer quotations and sales solution development
  • Thorough understanding of Quality of Service Principles
  • Network Certification in equipment such as Cisco, Huawei and Meraki
  • Effectively and professionally manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and to develop positive working relationships with all team members
  • Proven success in the successful and timely delivery of large complex projects
  • Knowledge of complex routing environments and commonly used routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
  • Experience with router, Layer 3 switches and firewalls from multiple vendors
  • The ability to design, document, implement, trouble shoot and manage secure, reliable, redundant and efficient systems adhering to best – practice design principles
